POOL GATE CLOSURE
Test the gate closure from resting position and any open position. Check the gate latching functionality and remove any objects that cause the gate to bind. Ensure all gates open outwards with latch to correct minimum requirements for metal or glass gates. Remove all evidence of gate propping. No bricks, plant pots, straps or hooks that are clearly regularly used to hold the gate in an open position. Ensure the latch does not bounce out when tested and hinges are strong enough. Check for correct shielding of the latch, especially if your Gate is on a corner

THE CONDITION OF YOUR FENCING
Regular maintenance means identifying broken or missing fixings, protruding nails in timber fences, and bent bars. Check for unstable support posts, rusted components and excessive gaps especially across changes in ground level. Look for loose unstable ground below fencing that maybe your pet has dug up.

They may be other issues that are trickier to identify. Perhaps you know your Boundary Fence is not 1800mm high but are unsure how best to resolve. Perhaps your intersections have not been correctly configured. Further information on these topics are in other posts here. Sometimes issues like this can be best resolved after receiving personalised advice from your Pool Certifier – Sydney Inspector
